Welcome to the 2012 Reunion Special Edition of eMuse!

Sweet Reunion!

William Tucker, Director

As teachers, spouses and children swarmed into the Corner Brewery on Friday, November 2, 2012 it was clear that the demise of the Eastern Michigan Writing Project was only a director’s anxiety. They came from Ann Arbor, Adrian, Allen Park, Hamtramck, Livonia, Plymouth, Monroe, South Lyon, and Ypsilanti. They came from 1992, 2002, and 2012. They came from retirement, from new jobs, from well-earned jobs and yearned-for jobs.

They filled the Corner with high spirits, reminiscences, and the enjoyment of teaching and learning. They saw slides of Summer Institutes past, anthologies of sacred writing, and children born after the memorable summer. They grazed the buffet, remembering the legendary breakfast buffets of SI’s past. They bid gleefully and anxiously against each other on books with treasured authors’ autographs. They celebrated twenty years of teachers teaching teachers. What a night!

Post reunion quotes:

Cathy Flesicher:
It was indeed awesome! Thanks so much to everyone who came and supported EMWP!!! All you teachers are my superheroes!

Angela Knight:
I knew it was a great party because I didn't get to talk to everyone I wanted to. :) Thanks, everyone!

Lisa Eddy:
I told my son on the way home, "That was the best reunion I've ever attended! I didn't have to make small talk, and everyone was HAPPY to talk about work!!" I love EMWP!

Heather Shively:
What a wonderful event. Nolan is now in love with Kim Pavlock, too!! :) Thanks to all who made this possible.
